Do you ever wonder why it is so difficult to change a habit or pattern of behavior? The number one reason it is so difficult is that our brains HATE change. Our brains want to operate efficiently, using as little energy as possible. Our brains accomplish this by entering into auto-pilot with all habits and patterns. This auto-pilot mode is great when we are doing what we want to be doing. However, when we are trying to change a pattern it is this mode that makes it so difficult because it is like a rut in the road that our brain keeps going back to.
